Crop Science is a division in Bayer East Africa, a subsidiary of Bayer AG. and one of the world’s leading innovative crop science companies in the areas of crop protection, non-agricultural pest control, vector control, seeds and traits, seeks to recruit qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following position:

Customer Marketing Manager – Vegetable Seeds

Ref No. HR/CS-014/2021)

The position holder will execute the customer marketing strategy and managing the Mktg mix in the Commercial Team territory based on Customer, market and competitor insights and following guidelines and processes of the EMEA Customer Marketing Leadership Team and other key functions to collaborate with (CE, Mktg Ops, MD, Sales) in order to create joint value.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Actively support and contribute the broader customer marketing strategy and Segment strategy through analyzing and evaluating customer insights and country market environment development for the next years and deriving and sharing appropriate conclusions
  • Enable the right portfolio strategy on regional level by providing market knowledge, customer insights and reflecting customer needs in our systems and address them in the right platforms
  • Drive the development and execution of the integrated customer campaigns aligned with the customer journey and relevant customer insights in collaboration with other key functions
  • Create relevant content and manage the available digital channels following the Digital Roadmap and covering needs across the chain while bringing new solutions
  • Support defining Integrated & Tailored solutions for customers (Seed, CP, Services) and actively help concept development, implementation and commercialization
  • Map out the desired customer experience, ensure awareness and support its realization across all functions
  • Ensures consistency and diligent use of corporate guidelines in branding and institutional image and stationary material across the area
  • Developing Partnership programs and incentives in indirect markets to support channel partners in being more successful and aligned to our strategy
  • Leading MF concept development and execution within the Area following the EMEA strategy
  • Lead Pricing discussions and alignment within the Commercial Team
  • Active participation and leadership in various projects (eg.. Growth, GTM reviews)
  • Responsible for placing Quarterly Mktg Bu FC
  • Active contribution to S&OP; actions to bridge gaps, NVI root cause analysis
  • Development of value propositions for NVIs based on VAC, MD summary, Customer feedbacks and cross-functional input

Experience / Qualification

  • University degree (BA or Master or equivalent) preferably in Mktg
  • 5+ years of commercial experience
  • Customer oriented mindset
  • Demonstrated influencing skills to efficiently lead projects
  • Results oriented
  • Proven strategic mindset to exercise sound business judgements
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
