Examination Administration Manager – Council of Legal Education


The Council of Legal Education has been re-established under the Legal Education Act, No.27 of 2012 with the twin primary purposes of: Promoting legal education and training, and the maintenance of the highest possible standards in legal education providers; and the provision of a system to guarantee the quality of legal education and legal education providers.

Position Title: Examination Administration Manager

Grade CLE 3

CLE/JOB-038/2021

Description: The job holder shall be responsible for all matters relating to the administration of the ATP examination including logistics and other arrangements such as notification of prospective candidates, registration, administration of the examination, marking, moderation and release of results and gazettement of successful candidates while maintaining the integrity, credibility, and professionalism of all the processes.

Responsibilities

a) Overseeing preparation of schedules for the registration of candidates

b) Overseeing resolution of examination related queries

c) Coordinating the training of invigilators and markers

d) In charge of examination material during exam administration and marking

e) Coordinating processing examination results

f) Coordinating the recruitment of invigilators

g) Coordinating the marking exercise at marking centres

h) Coordinating examination administration

i) Coordinating induction of markers

j) Induction of examination invigilators

k) Coordinating the registration of candidates

l) Leading teams during the processing examination results

m) Addressing operational challenges in examination administration

n) Preparing advertisements for print media of examination activities

o) Preparing reports upon completion of each activity done in the section

p) Coordinating and supervising the staff within the section

q) Preparing and implementing the work plans in the section

r) Ensure notifications on examination activities and calendar of examination activities are prepared; and

s) Develop the departmental annual procurement plan;

Qualifications

a) Have Bachelor Degree in Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

b) Have Master’s Degree in Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

c) Have a minimum of eight (8) years relevant work experience three (3) years should be in management;

d) Have attended management course lasting not less four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution;

e) Be proficient in computer application;

f) Have demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results and

g) Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Appointment will be on permanent and pensionable terms

Salary Scale

  • Basic Salary: 215,600 x 19,712 – 235,312 x 19,712 – 255,024 x 19,712 -274,736 x 19,712 – 294,448 x 19,712 – 314,160 per month
  • House Allowance: Kshs.50,000
  • Commuter Allowance: Kshs.14,000
