Just Diverso is an upcoming restaurant in Nairobi, Kenya.
The name was coined from the union of 2 languages with the meaning Just Different. Our mission is to bring different flavours together without any specific cultural identity and share a unique, creative and memorable food experience.
We are looking for a creative and proficient in all aspects of food preparation, Executive Chef. You will be head chef and maintain complete control of the kitchen so good leadership skills are very important.
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Create and modify menus that meet quality standards
- Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs
- Supervise kitchen staff activities
- Train kitchen staff on menu requirements and cooking methods
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
- Recruit and manage kitchen staff
- Rectify arising problems or complaints
- Give prepared plates the “final touch”
- Perform administrative duties
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Keep time and payroll records
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Proven working experience as a Head Chef
- Previous experience of opening a new restaurant
- At least 10 years of experience in international high-end restaurants
- Excellent record of kitchen management
- Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
- Knowledge of International cooking methods and food culture.
- Ability to design a functional commercial kitchen with a good workflow to allow the staff to work easily.
- Knowledge and execution of chemical and molecular gastronomy.
- BS degree in culinary science or related course.
