Job Title: Sales Account Manager (Printing Company Experience)

Job Summary: Applications are invited from candidates with good experience working in a printing company for a Sales Account Manager’s role.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining quality relationships with assigned accounts to ensure that sales targets for volume, revenue and new business are achieved and that the company’s delivery to such clients is in line with their expectations. Our client is a Printing company in Nairobi.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pursue business opportunities by understanding customers’ diverse, specific business needs and applying product knowledge to meet those needs;
  • Secure new orders from prospective customers and from existing clients by up selling and cross selling in line with set individual targets. Achieve and exceed sales targets set by managers and contribute to team targets;
  • Demonstrate products and services to existing /potential customers and giving professional advice/assisting them in selecting those best suited to their needs;
  • Cultivate new sales leads to establish business; identify and develop new business through networking, courtesy and follow-up calls;
  • Identify opportunities for further sales and new areas for development by conducting research of the industry/market;
  • Provide exemplary service to all clients in order to ensure repeat sales through client satisfaction;
  • Learn the company products and services to ensure excellent knowledge for entire range of products;
  • Continuously visit markets to strengthen relationship with existing accounts and identify and bring on board new accounts;
  • Work closely with the Estimator to ensure that pricing structures are competitive and ensure profitability;
  • Proactively promote the company’s brand and act as the company’s brand ambassador.
  • Work closely with the Customer service team to ensure all requests for quotations are completed within 24 hours to ensure on-time delivery;
  • Work with the Head of Sales to ensure timely preparation of tender documents, quotations, proposal presentations;
  • Promptly deal with all customer complaints and follow up to ensure their issues have been resolves satisfactorily;
  • Adhere to the Company’s Code of Business Conduct; and
  • Prepare weekly sales plans and submit comprehensive reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis per the requirements of Management.
  • Motivate, guide, train and retain account executives placed under your leadership.

Key Outputs / Deliverables

  • Sales achieved vs allocated target sales;
  • Cross selling and Upselling to all the business segments
  • Prospecting – proactively identify and qualify potential customers by developing contacts using referrals and pursuing leads.
  • Customer engagement and retention.
  • Timeliness in reporting – quality and accurate reports to inform on the average sales performance.
  • Market awareness – accurately understand market trends and analyse customer buying patterns.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, sales, or relevant field;
  • Postgraduate is an added advantage.

Experience, Skills and Competencies

  • 5+ years’ accounts management experience in a customer focused organization, preferably in an FMCG environment; printing industry is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive level.
  • Experience of delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while paying strict attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Highest level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Proven team leading capabilities
